A conversation with my teenage boys disturbed me. They spoke about things they had observed among girls around them.
Behaviors. Attitudes. Patterns.
Things that made some of their peers conclude they may never want to get married.
I understood their concerns because I had walked through a similar season myself.
For nearly three years, I seriously considered not marrying.
Not because I hated women or rejected marriage.
But because I had become increasingly aware.
I observed relationships and watched homes. My parents parted ways when I was barely five years old, and my father
I saw how some women elevated the lives of their husbands.
I saw how others consistently sabotaged vision, peace, and purpose.
The same was true of men.
Awareness changed everything.
Marriage stopped looking like romance alone.
It became a destiny decision.
Many young men today are not afraid of commitment.
They are afraid of making the wrong commitment.
And honestly, some of those fears are understandable.
This is why parents cannot afford to outsource character development to social media, entertainment, celebrities, or peer culture.
We must raise daughters who understand purpose.
Daughters who know their value.
Daughters who bring peace instead of confusion.
Daughters who strengthen vision instead of competing with it.
The answer is not fear.
The answer is preparation.
The solution is not avoiding marriage.
The solution is becoming marriage-worthy.
