He understands that a wife is a partner in purpose, not a replacement for personal development.
Marriage works best when two prepared people come together. Not when two confused people hope marriage will somehow solve their confusion. When person gives their all fir a stable family and the other gives the barest minimum for empty living, it sabotages efforts and cancels out the productivity and efficiency of the other.
