Happy Birthday, Sir.

Over the years I have reflected back, and I realized how much of my journey is connected to the role you played in my life. I met you back when you were still an undergraduate at BUK, and I was just a secondary school student serving as an FCS executive. You came faithfully to take our fellowships, encourage the workers, and pour yourself into us and somehow, in that process, God allowed a real bond to grow between us, and I bless God that it did.
You were more than a visiting minister to me. You became a brother in the faith I could talk to, share with, and learn from. I remember opening up about my struggles, my Christian walk, questions about service, moments of uncertainty and you always met me with patience, encouragement, and sincere support. Those conversations mattered to me more than you probably know. I felt seen and heard.
When I eventually stepped into ministry myself, you didn’t step back. You remained present through counsel, through your words, and through the quiet reassurance of your support whenever you were around, even with you being based far away from me. Your presence has always carried strength and clarity, and I’ve drawn from that more times than I can count.
Thank you for being consistent. Thank you for being available. Thank you for being a true senior brother one who strengthens others without noise, pride, or pressure.
As you mark another year today, I thank God deeply for your life and ministry. I pray the Lord renews your strength, deepens your joy, and continues to use you mightily. May your labour never be in vain, and may you be refreshed again and again by the grace you so freely give.
