That effort deserves respect but nations must also face a painful truth:
Whenever governments fail children consistently, society eventually inherits the consequences.
No nation can neglect childhood development and expect long-term national stability.
The prisons, addictions, violence, corruption, broken homes, mental health crises, crime rates, social distrust, and leadership failures seen in many societies often have roots tracing back to neglected childhood systems.
Children do not raise themselves and when governments fail to protect education, mental health, family systems, healthcare, child protection, nutrition, justice systems, and developmental opportunities, entire generations suffer silently.
Scripture repeatedly shows God’s concern for justice, protection of the vulnerable, righteous leadership, and societal stewardship.
Government was never designed merely for power management. It was intended for human flourishing.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child recognizes this responsibility clearly by affirming every child’s right to protection, healthcare, education, identity, safety, participation, dignity, and proper developmental support.
Nations that intentionally invest in child welfare systems, educational quality, family support, mental health awareness, child protection laws, and developmental structures consistently experience lower crime, stronger economies, healthier citizens, and greater social trust.
The United Kingdom sets maternity leave as much as 18 months with 20% of the pay while Nigeria sets it at 3 months with full salary. This is clear that one nation sets child care above Man Power while parents in the other choose money over spending quality time to give their children the best of early childhood developmental experience. And the impact on both sides is long term. Some families in Nigeria make the wife stay out of work to give the children quality attention while some force the children into day care. That is a subject for further discuss.
Why?
Because every child properly developed becomes national capital.
But neglected children often become societal emergencies later.
A nation cannot continuously damage children and expect peace in adulthood.
This generation of leaders must understand:
Economic growth without human development is incomplete progress.
The future strength of any nation is hidden inside how well it protects, educates, nurtures, and develops its children today.
Governments must move beyond political survival into intentional nation-building through healthy systems.
And citizens must also demand higher standards, not merely louder promises.
In the Kingdom, leadership is stewardship.
And stewardship is measured by impact on human lives.
Your best effort is not enough if systems still leave people broken.
We must pursue God’s original intention for societies:
Justice.
Wholeness.
Wisdom.
Protection.
Development.
Dignity.
Order.
