# NOT EVERY NEGATIVE COMMENT IS HATRED: SOMETIMES IT IS UNPROCESSED ADMIRATION
There is something many people never realize about public criticism:
A large percentage of mockery is rooted in hidden insecurity. Not always hatred but insecurity.
Some people attack visible courage because it exposes their invisible fear to go for that very thing they admire.
A young lady recently faced online trolling over her expression and presence on social media. And during our conversation, one statement I told her stood out deeply:
“You have grown around sane, loving people for so long that your mind struggles to process bad energy.”
That statement carries enormous psychological truth. Not everybody grew up emotionally safe.
Some people were raised around constant criticism, mockery, comparison, shame, rejection, hostility, and emotional instability until negativity became their normal internal voice.
So when they encounter confidence, creativity, joy, freedom, authenticity, or healthy self-expression, it unsettles them.
To wounded minds, confidence can look offensive, arrogant and proud.
Joy can look unserious.
Freedom can look prideful.
This is why social media can become dangerous for people who do not yet understand human psychology and spiritual maturity.
You may wrongly internalize projections that were never truly about you.
Many sarcastic people are secretly saying:
“I wish I could be this free.”
“I wish I had this courage.”
“I wish I was not afraid of people’s opinions.”
But instead of healing, they project.
This is why purpose-driven people must develop emotional resilience because not every voice deserves access to your self-worth.
Jesus Himself was mocked.
David was misunderstood.
Joseph was ridiculed.
Nehemiah was laughed at while rebuilding.
Mockery has always followed visible purpose. But those who changed history refused to become prisoners of distraction.
One of the greatest dangers today is allowing online noise to interrupt offline eternal destiny.
Do not let digital opinions tamper with your mental environment.
Protect your mind.
Protect your confidence.
Protect your growth.
Protect your becoming.
The loudest voices online are not always the healthiest voices internally.
And this is why Apostle Gideon Oluwalana has committed years to helping people, families, institutions, and leaders develop emotional intelligence, identity clarity, resilience, self-awareness, and transformational thinking rooted in Kingdom truth.
Because many people are not suffering from lack of potential.
They are suffering from internal battles they never learned how to process.
Philippians 4:8 teaches us to intentionally guard the quality of our thoughts.
Your inner environment matters.
The question is:
Who trained the voice you hear most inside yourself?
